At the beginning of the 1950s, we began to design and manufacture electric machinery under the Egor brand. These operations were carried out until 1977, when Electromecánica Industrial Obeki was incorporated, taking over the original brand and enlarging the previous production ranges, which we began to market under the Obeki brand.

During the 1980s, we grew and modernised our operations, ready to face the demands of accession to the European Economic Community and the massive competitive challenge it involved.

At the end of the 1990s, we had to deal with other major challenges. The sharp rise in competitiveness, phenomena such as globalisation, major hikes in the prices of raw material etc. required us to take the initial step of introducing growth-based strategies that would enable us to attract new customers in new markets (Internationalisation), and with new products and processes of high technological content, which led us to the formulation of an industrial group called the OBEKI GROUP.
